Bac Giang city prioritizes resources, upgrades friendly government

BAC GIANG - Bac Giang City in Bac Giang province is expanding with new development space. In order to best serve the people, the municipal authority has focused on solutions to improve friendly government, ensuring synchronization and modernity.

After the merging process, Bac Giang City has 31 wards and communes. Currently, 27 units of the city meet friendly government standard, 8 of which are rated 4 star, 6 rated 3 stars, 10 rated 2 stars and 3 rated 1 star.

Leader of Tan Lieu ward reviews the criteria to build friendly government.

In 2025, the city strives for 100% of wards and communes to achieve 2 stars or higher, 20% of which will have their stars upgraded compared to 2024.

After being rated one star per friendly government standard in 2024, this year, Tan Lieu ward strives to achieve 3-star standard. With high determination, the local Party Committee and government have focused on many solutions to overcome limitations.

Nguyen Van Hung, the ward Party Secretary, Head of the Steering Committee for implementing local democratic regulations, said: "In 2024, the ward invested funds to renovate and repair its headquarters, including the one-stop division. However, to meet the criteria of a 3-star friendly government, the ward has determined that it must prioritize financial resources and staff to improve the score of each criterion".

Coming to the headquarters of commune-level administrative agencies in Bac Giang City, it is easy to see that the one-stop shop is arranged in convenient locations, with spacious and clean landscapes. The service spirit of the staff and civil servants have changed positively while the rate of administrative procedure files paid in advance and on time is high.

Most people are satisfied with the service of civil servants, the government and the office environment in the area. To achieve that result, each ward and commune has a different way of doing things, but experience showed that it is thanks to the close attention and direction of the leaders.

According to Pham Gia Thai, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee - the Standing Office of the Bac Giang City Steering Committee, the City Steering Committee instructed wards, communes and relevant agencies to promote high-scoring criteria and strive to improve low-scoring criteria.

In particular, all must focus on criteria groups about implementing democratic regulations; administrative reform; civility and office culture; strictly conduct surveys to collect opinions on satisfaction levels and pay attention to organizing meetings, dialogues, and resolving complaints and denunciations.

The City Steering Committee requires that every month, communes and wards must check the progress of implementing the criteria in associated with evaluating the results of administrative reform and digital transformation.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Party Committees and local authorities of the city will strengthen inspection of public service activities; invest adequately in facilities and equipment at the one-stop divisions, ensuring a friendly and close working space for the people.

Official in Dinh Ke ward guides citizen to use the digital mailbox of the Party Committee and People's Committee of the ward to receive people's feedback and suggestions.

Besides, the municipal authority will enhance the responsibility of leaders in leading and directing to build friendly government, make the results of implementing democratic regulations and building friendly government a criterion for evaluating and classifying leaders from 2025.

On the other hand, the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations should be promoted in directing, guiding and coordinating to build friendly government.

At this time, the wards, communes, and specialized departments of the city are reviewing related conditions and reporting to the City People's Committee, then proposing the city to have expense support plan to buy more equipment, replace and renovate the identification board and chart system to ensure uniformity; and equip satisfaction assessment machines at the one-stop shops of the wards and communes that are still lacking.
