Bac Giang continues strictly managing sources of infection, speeds up support for Covid-19 pandemic victims

(BGO) - The provincial People’s Committee (PPC) of Bac Giang province on 16 April afternoon held an online conference with the 10 districts and city to review the fight against Covid-19. Le Anh Duong, PPC Vice Chairman, Deputy Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control chaired the conference. 

Bac Giang faces risk of pandemic spread from the virus-hit localities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Recently, patient 262, a worker of Samsung Display Vietnam Company Limited, poses high risk of infection to Bac Giang labourers because they take day trips by public transport on which they contact with different people causing difficulty in managing source of infection.

According to the report by the districts and city, 8,333 people have returned from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and 1,448 people entered Bac Giang since 7 March. Besides, 4,773 foreigners are staying in the province. All people returning from Bach Mai Hospital have been tested negative results. The province allocated some 208.3 billion VND (8.9 million USD) for the pandemic fight.

In his conclusion, PPC Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong informed that Bac Giang was evaluated a low-risk locality by the Central Government. This is the initial success, which motivates the province to continue making efforts in implementing effective measures to combat the pandemic in coming time.

He urged the province to continue implementing the preventive measures at higher level like medium-risk localities even strictly managing in some sectors like high-risk group.

The districts and city need to strictly follow the Correspondence No 1610/UBND-KGVX of the PPC Chairman on implementing the pandemic prevention and control after 15 April. In which, managing source of infection should be given top priority. Citizens should not travel to the localities facing high risk of infection and Ha Giang province. Only enter Hanoi for essentials.

Those who return from 12 high-risk localities and Ha Giang province must be under health supervision. The steering committee of the districts and city shall impose supervision methods depending on specific case.

It is required to continue supervising health of people returning from Bach Mai Hospital, those connected to patients 234 and 262 and people returning from abroad even when they finished quarantine.

The provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC) was asked to speed up testing progress in which giving priority to people relating to Samsung Display Vietnam Company Limited.

The districts and city need to collaborate with CDC to quickly test F2 cases. If they are tested negative, they will be permitted to finish quarantine. However, F1 cases must be still in concentrated quarantine and tested for second time.

For 2 Bac Giang native patients who have been cured and discharged from hospital last week must be continuously managed and regularly tested when they return the locality.

The Health Department was requested to strengthen health management of the entire people, effectively direct the pharmacies requiring customers to declare health status and inform the medical agency cases having cough or fever to timely detect suspected Covid-19 patients in the localities.

The districts and city need to accelerate supporting those affected by the pandemic according to the Government’s Resolution No 42 who can be divided into 2 groups. The defined group of people including the poor, nearly poor and policy beneficiaries shall be immediately supported. 

The other group of targets such as self-employed workers should be promptly reviewed to be supported right after receiving guidance of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
