Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Linh introduced the Korean delegation to the province’s potential, strengths and socio-economic development. Currently, Bac Giang has 530 projects of investors from 14 countries. Of these, 225 were from RoK investors.

Korean companies have contributed to generating jobs and increasing budget revenue for the province. Bac Giang has many advantages as it boasts 1.2 million pigs, ranking fourth in the country and 14 million head of poultry, ranking third nationwide, mainly chicken. Therefore, cattle and poultry supplies for processing are quite abundant.

However, there are no modern processing plants with high capacity in the province. The provincial leader wished that Korean companies will invest in this area and boost linkages in selling products for farmers. Bac Giang always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for enterprises to land investments for local sustainable development.

Linh expressed his hope that in the coming time, he will have chances to take Korean enterprises to visit and directly survey some areas. Regarding investment incentives, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee stated that, like other provinces in the country, Bac Giang is exempting 100 percent of the tax for enterprises investing in industrial zones in the first two years, and 50 percent in the four following years.

At present, some industrial zones have completed land clearance, staying ready to hand over clean land to investors for their timely construction of factories and early operation. He stressed that the province would direct departments and sectors to promptly and quickly solve problems and procedures to help investors implement projects smoothly.

Some Korean companies said they would consider investing in the province in a number of suitable areas. On the same day, the RoK delegation visited some IZs and Korean enterprises operating in the province.
