This was an opportunity to review the 40-year history of the solidarity and close relations between Vietnam and Cambodia, in difficult times well as in periods of peace, prosperity
Speaking at the event, Counselor of the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam Op Sophy expressed his pleasure when being warmly welcomed by the provincial leaders and officials from the provincial Union of Friendship Organisations. At the same time, he emphasized that Cambodia always remembers the great services of the Vietnamese Party, State, Fatherland Front, army and people who made great sacrifices to liberate and save the country and people of Cambodia from the brutal genocidal regime, contributing to the process of seeking peace for Cambodia.
On behalf of Cambodian students in Vietnam, Borey Koemseang, who is pursuing study at the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said: “I am very happy to visit Bac Giang today, especially with my godparents in Vietnam. Through the trip, I had a better understanding of the history of Bo Da Pagoda and the development process of Bac Giang province.

Along with that, I also heard aunts and uncles telling stories about the years of war, which helped me understand more deeply about Vietnam’s sacrifice and help for Cambodia as well as the solidarity and friendship between the two countries”.
On this occasion, representatives of the Study Encouragement Association, the Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province presented more than 40 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to families who sponsor Cambodian students and 36 Cambodian students learning at universities in Hanoi.
