Bac Giang imposes concentrated isolation on people returning from Europe since 13 March

(BGO) - This is instruction of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Bac Giang province (the provincial Steering Committee) at the conference to review Covid-19 fight and lay out tasks for coming time.

According to report of the provincial Steering Committee, there are currently 4,807 foreigners in the entire province. 2,852 of them are working in the companies while 1,959 are staying in the districts and city.

Facing the epidemic complicated developments especially when the 17th infection case appeared, the provincial Steering Committee called an urgent meeting to implement necessary measures for epidemic prevention and control in the locality.

The provincial Steering Committee checked and monitored the concentrated isolation area of the province, prepared necessary conditions and arranged isolation area for foreigners due to increasing number of quarantined people. They will continue supervise classification, quarantine and treatment at the public and non-public medical bases. The Hospital of Endocrinology need to be checked and prepared for running a field hospital.

Besides, it is necessary to boost propaganda in various methods while monitoring information on social network about the epidemic to timely detect those spreading false information causing public confusion.

By 16h00 on 12 March, there have been 144 people quarantined in the province’s concentrated isolation area including 63 Vietnamese people returning from China, Republic of Korea, Italy, Japan, Kuwait and 81 Chinese people.

Concluding the conference, the provincial Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong highly appreciated the great efforts of the levels and sectors in the fight against Covid-19, particularly well controlling epidemic situation in the locality.

The provincial Vice Chairman urged the levels and sectors to review related documents, make plans to readily respond to any circumstances in pandemic prevention and control at higher level and activate the isolation areas and field hospitals following “on-site” principle (on-site commanding, on-site force, on-site facilities and on-site logistics). Besides, it is essential to closely monitor sources of infection.

People returning from Europe will be applied concentrated isolation since 13 March. Foreigners will be tested after 3 days of concentrated isolation and allowed to be in quarantine at their residential places and companies if the test results are negative for Covid-19. 

The costs will be covered by the enterprises. In addition, people coming from localities with infected cases such as Hanoi city and Vinh Phuc province must be closely supervised.

The provincial Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong told he would report the Head of the provincial Steering Committee on the recommendation of the Department of Education and Training to allow students of kindergarten, primary and junior high schools to stay at home till the end of March 2020.

Besides, he requested the Department of Education and Training to collaborate with media agencies to propagandize and guide students’ parents to care for students’ health when staying at home.

The Department of Health was urged to consult the provincial People’s Committee about establishing the medical isolation area at the provincial General Hospital and make isolation plans to respond to new circumstances. Furthermore, it is necessary to enhance epidemic prevention and control in agencies, organizations and enterprises.

Bac Giang highly focuses on coping with risk of Covid-19 outbreak
