Bac Giang: nearly 1 million samples taken for testing, 66,536 Covid-19 vaccine doses injected
Two outbreaks still generated more infections, including the one at the Van Trung Industrial Park (related to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2 in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district) with 381 F0 cases. This outbreak has been controlled, with the new infections found among F1 cases who were already placed in areas under quarantine or lockdown.

The outbreak in the Quang Chau Industrial Park has so far recorded 2,112 infections. The new cases are mainly workers and some are family members of workers and those who had close contact with confirmed cases detected in areas where many workers are living in Viet Yen district (Nui Hieu, Tam Tang and Trung Dong villages). They all had been put in quarantined and locked down areas.
The province has so far taken 929,283 samples for Covid-19 testing, including 63,762 samples collected on June 2. Of which, 837,660 samples have been processed.
Along with taking samples of those in quarantined and locked down areas and high-risk people, the province has directed localities to take samples from the community for screening tests with 237,788 samples, and no positive cases have been detected among these.
The province plans to evacuate all 4,000 workers and people in Nui Hieu village of Viet Yen district to disinfect and clean the environment in this area. All of them will be tested to ensure safe conditions before being sent back to the locality.
The province has prepared 16 quarantine and treatment areas with an expected capacity of 4,397 beds, as well as basically completed the construction and installation of a 100-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Psychiatric Hospital. It has directed the Department of Health to coordinate with medical experts of Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital to evaluate the entire system and urgently arrange personnel to manage and operate the ICU.

On June 2, 20 more patients were given the all clear, bringing the total number of recoveries in the past two days to 59. Meanwhile, 187 patients tested negative once and 17 others twice.
Along with speeding up the collection of samples for testing, the province has also paid great attention to vaccination with personnel support from a number of units throughout the country. From May 29 to June 2, the whole province injected 66,536 doses of vaccines, mainly into workers (including 25,188 doses on June 2). It is expected that on June 3, more than 30,000 doses will be administrated, mainly in Viet Yen district.
