Bac Giang receives 100 cherry blossom trees from Japan

The People’s Committee of northern Bac Giang province held a ceremony on March 1 to receive 100 cherry blossom trees present by the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region. 

Speaking at the event, Minister Okabe Daisuke of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam hoped that Bac Giang residents will love the symbolic flower of Japan. He expressed his hoped that relations between Bac Giang and the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region will further thrive.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong said 23 projects invested by Japanese enterprises have generated jobs for thousands of workers.

He asked the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region to provide technical instructions to cherry blossom tree planting in the province and introduce Japanese firms to seek business opportunities there.

Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong presents a gift to a representative of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region.

From 2015-2018, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region presented 600 cherry blossom trees to Bac Giang province.

On the occasion, a memorial stele for the cherry bloom tree project was inaugurated. The trees will be planted in Yen The district.

The provincial People’s Committee also presented symbols of Vinh Nghiem pagoda and King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region.
