Bac Giang: Stable laborers after Lunar New Year holiday

(BGO) – After the Lunar New Year holiday, the labor situation in the enterprises, especially in the industrial parks and clusters in Bac Giang province is stable, ensuring the human resources for production at the beginning of this year.

Over 95 percent of laborers come back to work

At the provincial industrial parks (IP), there are 285 operating enterprises that create jobs to some 120,000 laborers in and outside the province. According to the quick report from the Trade Union in the provincial IP, this year, some businesses started working early on January 28 (lunar January 4) while most of them came back to work on January 29, 30 (lunar January 5,6). As of January 31, over 95 percent of the laborers come back to work at the companies.

Two days after the Tet holiday, more than 98 percent of workers at Samkwang Vina Co.,Ltd come back to work.

After two first working days, the more than 98 percent of the laborers participated in the production at Samkwang Vina Company Limited (Quang Chau IP).

According to Head of the Personnel Department Le Van Huan, this year, Samkwang Vina Co.,Ltd needs employing 1,000 laborers more to expand the production. It is the crucial condition for the company to keep the laborers thus all the salary and allowances are guaranteed so that the laborers get average income of over 8 million VND (344 USD) per month.

On the Tet occasion, apart from the bonus paid to 100 percent of the workers (one month of basic salary of 4.7 million VND), Samkwang Vina Co.,Ltd joined hands with the trade union to present gifts to 73 difficult workers (each worth 1 million VND or 43 USD) as well as support the ticket to those living far away to come back after the traditional holiday (50 – 250,000 VND per person).

At Siflex Vietnam Company Limited (Quang Chau IP), 500 laborers worked on lunar December 29 and from lunar January 3 onward due to the requirement of export product right after the Tet holiday. To encourage the laborers, the company paid them 300 percent of the salary per person per day (day shift) and 390 percent of salary (night shift) adding to 400,000 VND bonus per day.

Necessary for long term solutions

According to the competent agencies, the situation of job change after lunar New Year has not been regularly occurred in the enterprises at the provincial IPs, thus they do not encounter the production difficulties due to labor shortage. The unchanged working sources is a positive signal for the firms to start the production plan.

Some companies in the provincial IP with most of workers coming back to work after the lunar New Year holiday include Haem Vina Co.,Ltd (Song Khe – Noi Hoang IP), Sung Woo Vina Co.,Ltd (Dinh Tram IP); Luxshare ICT Bac Giang Co.,Ltd and Crystal Martin Vietnam Co.,Ltd (Quang Chau IP) and Young Jin Vina (Van Trung IP).

Vice Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen The Dung said apart from the Governmental policies, the salary, allowances and working condition are the key factors to keep the workers and stabilize the labor situation.

Actually, the enterprises at the provincial IP have paid due attention to improving the workers’ life via suitable policies. Particularly on the recent Tet occasion, many companies encouraged their laborers by on time payment of salary and bonus, lucky money on first working day, entertainment activities, lucky draw.... When the laborers are sufficiently cared, they will attach to the company longer.

Vice Chairman of the provincial Labor Federation Ngo Bien Cuong shared: “Now, most of the workers are comfortable to work at a company for long time, proving for a harmony labor relationship in the enterprises. To achieve truly sustainable labor situation, the businesses should pay more attention to improving the working environment and condition; building the houses, cultural system and kindergarten for the children of workers; especially issuing suitable employment policies and creating job opportunities for the middle age workers or those living in difficult area”.
