(BGO)- The Fatherland Front
Committee of Bac Giang province has launched the plan to mobilize resources and
give gifts to the poor on Lunar New Year occasion 2020 (Year of the Rat).
It is reported that the province is home to nearly 23,140 poor households, accounting for 5.01 percent and 28,190 nearly poor households, taking 6.11 percent. In 2019, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) targeted at 100 percent of the poor and nearly poor households provided Tet gifts.

Bac Giang city has lowest rate of poor and nearly poor households. The FFC requested the Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Giang city to collaborate with the local government to proactively mobilize resources to ensure Tet gifts for all of poor and nearly poor households.
The public servants, laborers in public agencies and enterprises, soldiers, officials and employees of the arm forces and donors nationwide are called to support for the mobilization.
Each individual is expected to donate at least one-day wage (the minimum donation rate is 150,000 VND (6.4 USD) per each).
The enterprises can donate through bank transfer. In case the enterprises want to donate specific persons, they need to clarify the tentative addresses to visit and present gifts and send to the FFC before 10 January 2020.
The mobilization is scheduled from 23 December 2019 to 1 January 2020.
The FFC’ Standing Board requested the Fatherland Front Committee and the “Fund for the Poor” Mobilization Board of Bac Giang city, Lang Giang district, Viet Yen district, Yen Dung district, Hiep Hoa district and Tan Yen district to mobilize 200 gift packages for the mountainous districts with high rate of poor households such as Luc Ngan, Son Dong, Luc Nam and Yen The.
Besides, they were required to guide the Fatherland Front Committee of the communes and towns to present gifts at the residential areas.
Fund for the poor raises 13.9 trillion VND from 2017-2019
The National Fund for the Poor and Social Welfare raised over 13.9 trillion VND (600.7 million USD) during 2017-2019, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh told a teleconference in Hanoi on December 23.
Over 7.9 billion VND donated to Fund for the poor

the Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) in Bac Giang province, the provincial FFC’s
Standing Board received nearly 900 million VND (over 38,800 USD) from 109
organizations, agencies and enterprises donating to the provincial ‘Fund for the
Poor” within the Action Month for the Poor (October 17 – November 18).

– During the Action Month for the Poor (from October 17 to November 18), agencies
at all levels, sectors, units and social organizations in Bac Giang province
have implemented many activities to share difficulties with the poor.
Bac Giang: Rate of poor household down 2.24 percent in 2019
(BGO) – According to the
primary reviewing result of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social
Affairs, Bac Giang province has more than 23,200 poor households in 2019,
accounting for 5.05 percent. Comparing to 2018, the figure reduced more than 9,800 poor households (down 2.24
percent).
Bac Giang responds to Action month for the poor
(BGO) – On November 8,
the Red Cross Society (RCS) in the northern province of Bac Giang coordinated
with Phan Anh Pharmaceutical Medical Material Joint Stock Company and Medical Center
in Son Dong district to organize free health examination and consultation and
present gifts to students in Van Son Primary School.
