Bac Giang team bags silver at National Phu Dong Sports Festival’s football championship for student

(BGO) – After 7 days of competition, the final round of Football Championship, the 17th Nestlé Milo Cup under the National Phu Dong Sports Festival for primary and secondary students launched by the Ministry of Education and Training and the People’s Committee in Dong Thap province successfully ended in August 13.

In the primary group, the Bac Giang provincial U11 football team won silver medal after losing Hai Duong provincial U11 football team with the score of 0-2.

The championship drew 15 football teams at primary groups and 14 teams at secondary groups from 24 provinces and cities (each team had 12 athletes). Previously, these teams excellently passed the qualification round.

The U11 football team in Bac Giang province summoned key members from the primary schools under the Division of Education and Training in Viet Yen district which won champion title at the men football championship at primary school in the academic year 2018 – 2019 launched by the Department of Education and Training.

Besides, some athletes were selected from the Division of Education and Training in Lang Giang district and Bac Giang city.

With high solidarity and determination, the Bac Giang U11 football team overcame strong rivals of Quang Tri U11 football team, Hanoi U11 football team and Lam Dong U11 football team to enter the final match with Hai Duong U11 football team and bag silver medal.

It is the biggest annual football championship to students of primary and secondary schools to maintain and widespread the school football movement. Also, it encourages the students to actively join the sports activities, improve the physical condition as well as helps the competent agency to find the football talents to have further fostering and training for the teams.
