Bac Giang team wins 5 medals at national excellent youth chess championship

(BGO) – The National Excellent Youth Chess Championship 2018 was held by Vietnam Chess Federation (VCF) in Ninh Binh province from August 30 to September 9, drawing 260 players from 24 provinces, cities and sectors across the nation.

The players competed in men’s single and women’s single categories under the age groups of U6, U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U20.

10 players in Bac Giang team participated in the event and earned 3 golds and 2 bronzes. Gold winners were Nguyen Thuy Linh (U9), Luong Hoang Tu Linh (U13) and Nguyen Quang Trung (U17).

The National Excellent Youth Chess Championship belongs to VCF’s official competition system which is annually organized for youth chess players with high national and international rankings, helping select the excellent chess players of all ages for the national chess team to compete in the upcoming international tourneys in 2019.
