Bac Giang’s athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh wins gold at 1500 meter run at 30th Sea Games

(BGO) – Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh (Bac Giang province) excellently won a gold medal at 1500 meter run event in the 30th Sea Games at 16:20 on December 8 (Vietnam time).

She passed the finish line after 4 minutes 17 seconds 35, the first runner up was Indonesian athlete and second runner up was Vietnamese athlete Khuat Phuong Anh.

Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh (no 962) is happy with the gold medal at 1500 meter run at the 30th Sea Games.

Though 1500 meter run was not Oanh’s forte, her high determination and spirit of competition for the national sport helped her gain the gold and bring the glory to the country. It is the highest achievement Oanh has ever reached at the 1500 meter run event at the national and regional championships.

Nguyen Thi Oanh who was born in 1995 in My Ha village, Lang Giang district is a bright name in Vietnamese track and field sector with 3 times participating in Sea Games.

As scheduled, she will compete at two remaining events on December 12 including 5000 meter run and 3000 meter steeplechase.
