Duong Thi Ngoc Nga (podium 1) wins a gold medal in the women’s 45kg combat.

The event saw the participation of more than 400 athletes from 24 teams from across the country. They competed in performance and combat categories for elementary, junior high school and senior high school students.

The Bac Giang team, comprising of 12 athletes, gave excellent performances at the tournament. Gold medalists are Phung Dinh Linh (senior high school level, men’s 42kg combat category), along with Duong Thi Ngoc Nga (senior high school level, women’s 45kg combat category) and Nguyen Van Quy (senior high school level, men’s 71kg combat category).

With three gold, two silver and three bronze medals, the province’s Vovinam team ranked eighth in overall rankings.

After the championships, the athletes will continue to get training in preparation for the National Junior Vovinam Championships in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang in mid-August.
