Bac Ninh: Green spaces keep visitors coming back

Updated: 15:30, 08/01/2026

BAC NINH – Amid the hustle and bustle of urban life, the desire to return to nature and enjoy green, peaceful spaces for relaxation and rejuvenation is growing. Responding to this trend, many eco-tourism sites across Bac Ninh province have been developed, each offering distinctive and appealing features that attract visitors.

With its cool, tranquil green surroundings, Thu Thuy Ecolodge in Tu Son ward is a popular choice for weekend getaways and relaxation.

Dong Do Village Eco-tourism Site in Lam Thao commune leaves a strong impression thanks to its harmonious blend of nature and culture.

Spanning more than 20,000 square meters, it vividly recreates the northern Vietnamese countryside through traditional houses, brick courtyards, fish ponds, rows of areca palms, betel trellises, traditional cake-making areas, and experiential spaces showcasing Dong Ho folk paintings and Phu Lang pottery.

Bau Tien Eco-tourism Site in Phuong Son ward is likened to a picturesque landscape painting, harmoniously combining mountains, lakes, and rich vegetation.

Here, visitors can enjoy boating on the lake and savor local cuisine. Nearby, Hoa Qua Son Eco-tourism Site in Chu ward offers its own distinctive charm with open spaces filled with fragrant air and vibrant yellow and red hues from orchards heavy with ripe oranges and pomelos.

The journey to explore Hoa Qua Son and Bau Tien is also linked with nearby destinations such as Xe Cu Pagoda, Cam Son Lake, Khuon Than Lake, Chu noodle craft village, and ethnic minority villages.

Currently, many eco-tourism sites have been established across the province, with nearly 20 officially recognised destinations. These sites focus on sustainably utilising natural resources, creating green spaces closely connected to nature and community life.

In addition to resort-style and agricultural experiences, Bac Ninh also boasts eco-tourism destinations with pristine natural beauty, attracting visitors who enjoy exploration, photography, and hands-on experiences.

Each destination has its own character - from landscape-harmonised retreats and Kinh Bac rural cultural experiences to community-based tourism associated with lakes, hills, and orchards.

Many sites have implemented management and operational regulations tied to environmental protection, encouraging visitors to engage in responsible experiential activities and helping preserve long-term natural values.

Through agricultural experiences, environmental education, and cultural exchanges, eco-tourism in the province is gradually spreading messages of a green lifestyle in harmony with nature.

According to Do Tuan Khoa, Deputy Director of the Bac Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, eco-tourism and green tourism are well-suited to current conditions and trends and represent one of the four key tourism product groups the province is prioritising.

The development of eco-tourism sites not only diversifies tourism offerings and enhances local competitiveness but also promotes environmental awareness and creates sustainable livelihoods for residents.

In the coming period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue coordinating with relevant units to support and guide eco-tourism development toward a green, sustainable approach aligned with resource conservation and cultural preservation.

With advantages in geographical location, natural resources, timely provincial guidance, and active participation from businesses and organisations, eco-tourism and green tourism are steadily affirming their important role in the province’s overall tourism landscape.
