At a meeting on May 28 chaired by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dao Quang Khai, officials reviewed the progress of social housing development and discussed measures to speed up construction.

According to the provincial Department of Construction, Bac Ninh currently has 109 social housing projects, including 71 projects in the Southern Cau River area with a planned scale of more than 80,500 apartments.

Of these, 23 projects with more than 12,000 apartments have been completed and put into operation. Another 29 projects approved before July 1, 2025 are under construction, while 19 projects approved after that date are completing investment preparation procedures.

Among the 29 projects already under implementation, 11 are currently under construction. Six of them are expected to be completed on schedule, delivering around 4,164 apartments.

However, several projects continue to face obstacles related to land clearance, planning adjustments, legal procedures and implementation capacity, significantly affecting progress, officials said.

Concluding the meeting, the provincial Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai urged investors to mobilize maximum resources and promptly resolve outstanding issues to ensure projects are completed in line with provincial targets and commitments.

He also assigned the Department of Construction to continue monitoring project implementation, guiding investors and compiling unresolved issues for submission to provincial authorities.

The implementation results of social housing projects will be included among key criteria used by the provincial administration to evaluate local governments’ performance in 2026, officials said.
