BAC NINH - Bac Ninh provincial authorities have recently inspected the Yen Phong-Yen Trung worker housing and commercial-services project to review implementation progress, address obstacles and accelerate social housing development in the northern industrial province.

The inspection delegation was led by Lam Thi Huong Thanh, member of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council.

Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Lam Thi Huong Thanh speaks at the meeting.

Developed by Grand Home Investment JSC, the project has total registered investment capital of more than 1.349 trillion VND (51.6 million USD). About 394 billion VND has been disbursed so far, equivalent to 29% of the planned capital.

The project covers more than 66,450 square metres and includes social housing blocks, commercial housing, service facilities, a kindergarten, sports facilities, transport infrastructure and green spaces.

Phase 1 technical infrastructure has been completed, while Phase 2 has reached around 65% of construction volume and is expected to finish in the third quarter of 2027, according to the investor.

The CT2 social housing block is under construction and scheduled for handover in the third quarter of 2026. Foundation work for the CT1 block has been completed, with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Low-rise housing areas and the kindergarten are also under development and expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2026.

The project includes 2,058 social housing apartments, of which nearly 600 units have been completed. The developer has submitted 327 applications for approval, with 325 applicants deemed eligible and contracts signed for 316 apartments.

The inspection team requested clarification on causes of delays, criteria for social housing buyers, communication efforts and apartment pricing management.

Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Lam Thi Huong Thanh and the inspection delegation conduct an on-site review of the project’s implementation progress.

The provincial leader said the project plays an important role in Bac Ninh’s social housing development strategy and urged the developer to mobilise resources, speed up construction and complete infrastructure to bring the project into operation soon.

She also called on the provincial Department of Construction to continue supporting the investor in resolving difficulties, reviewing legal procedures and strengthening post-inspection of social housing applications to ensure the right beneficiaries receive support.

Local authorities in Yen Phong and Yen Trung communes were asked to coordinate with the developer on communication activities, help workers access project information and address environmental, landscape and transport infrastructure issues around the project area to ensure a safe and convenient living environment for future residents.
