Bac Ninh leverages livestreaming to boost early ripening lychee sales

BAC NINH – Local authority in northern province of Bac Ninh has turned to e-commerce and livestreaming to promote and accelerate the sales of early-season lychee, drawing hundreds of thousands of viewers and securing tonnes of orders in a single day.

The event, held on May 20, was jointly organized by the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, TikTok Shop, logistics firm Viettel Post, and the local administration of Nam Duong Commune.

Pham Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, directly participated in the sessions, which ran from 12pm to 14pm and from 14 to 17pm.

During the broadcasts, the provincial leader and a team of content creators showcased the distinct qualities of Luc Ngan early ripening lychees and the province's overall lychee output.

They highlighted strict cultivation, harvesting, and packaging processes designed to meet food safety standards, while also addressing viewer inquiries regarding quality control, crop yields, and market supply chains.

Bac Ninh province is currently not only promoting e-commerce transactions for lychees but is also targeting all products ranging from agricultural produce to industrial goods, household appliances, and tourism.

The presence of provincial leader in the livestream session also serves as the province's commitment to the quality of Bac Ninh lychees, as well as the province's key, signature agricultural products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) goods.

Across two livestream sessions, which attracted over 832,000 views, the Organizing Committee successfully closed 4,827 orders for lychees with a total weight of over 31 tonnes, along with 537 bottles of honey and nearly 300 kilograms of Chu rice noodles".
