The event was attended by member of the Central Party Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai, permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son, VNPT Chairman To Dung Thai and Vice Director General Ngo Dien Hy.

At the meeting, VNPT and the provincial People’s Committee agreed to sign a strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation for the 2026–2030 period.

The objective is to strengthen cooperation and support research and application of information technology and digital technologies in building and developing digital government, digital economy and digital society in the province.

The cooperation contents launched thoroughly from the provincial People’s Committee to departments, agencies, communes and wards and from VNPT Group to its branches and members consist of development of infrastructure to lay the foundation for digital transformation, construction of digital government, digital economy, and digital society, ensuring cybersecurity and information security and collaboration in developing a high-quality workforce to meet the requirements of science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai stressed 3 key targets set by Bac Ninh province in the next stage including promoting economic growth, enhancing innovation capacity and strengthening governance efficiency following the 2-tier local government.

He added, Bac Ninh is targeted to maintain the 2-digit growth in coming years. Particularly, it will strive to reach an annual growth rate of 10.5 percent in 2026-2031 period and 12.5 percent to 13 percent in 2026.

The provincial Party Chief urged both sides to urgently realize the signed agreement by specific programmes and projects with clear products and quantitative indicators.

He requested to research and prioritize development of digital infrastructure and 5G network and construct digital platforms to support businesses especially linking FDI enterprises with domestic ones.

They were also ureged to promote startup and innovation ecosystem and support digital transformation at local government particularly in supply of online public services.

Both sides need to establish a mechanism for periodic review of the implementation of the cooperation agreement and promptly adjust and supplement new contents in line with practical conditions, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh province and enhancing VNPT’s position in the national digital transformation process.
