Bac Ninh's lychee revenue reaches around 7.2 trillion VND

Updated: 11:22, 02/07/2026

BAC NINH – Revenue from Bac Ninh's lychee harvest has reached approximately 7.2 trillion VND (273.8 million USD), despite lower output than last year, as strong prices and expanding export markets boosted growers' earnings, provincial authorities said.

According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, around 130,000 tonnes of lychees have been harvested so far, exceeding the initial production target by more than 1%.

Harvesting has largely concluded across the province, with only a small number of orchards in mountainous communes of the former Luc Ngan district still picking fruit.

The domestic market absorbed about 85,200 tonnes, accounting for nearly 67.4% of total output, while the remainder was exported.

China remained the largest overseas market, importing around 40,500 tonnes. Bac Ninh lychees were also shipped to several high-standard markets, including Japan (310 tonnes), Canada (170 tonnes), the European Union (120 tonnes) and the United States (80 tonnes), among others.

A key feature of this year's season was consistently strong prices. The average selling price has reached around 56,000 VND per kg since the start of the harvest.

As a result, total lychee revenue climbed to approximately 7.2 trillion VND, even though production was lower than in the previous season.

Related services, including purchasing, transportation, packaging, storage and distribution, generated an additional more than 1.5 trillion VND in revenue.

The results underscore the benefits of improving product quality, diversifying export markets and strengthening trade promotion efforts, helping increase the value of Bac Ninh lychees.

Maintaining quality standards and meeting the requirements of both domestic and international markets enabled growers to achieve higher incomes despite a less abundant harvest.
