Bac Ninh speeds up land clearance for projects in South of Cau River

Updated: 15:13, 18/03/2026

BAC NINH - Authorities in northern Bac Ninh province are stepping up land clearance efforts to accelerate construction of several projects in the South of the Cau River.

The provincial People’s Committee Office said in Document No. 2238/UBND-KTN that the move follows instructions from the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee to assess progress on key projects in the area.

Despite earlier timelines being set for compensation, support and land clearance, implementation has lagged behind schedule. Officials cited changes in land law regulations governing compensation policies and authority, as well as insufficiently decisive action by some local administrations.

With policies and legal frameworks now largely completed, the provincial leader has ordered departments, local authorities, land development centers and investors to intensify coordination and public outreach to encourage residents to comply with land acquisition and compensation processes.

The province aims to break ground on the projects and determine land-use fees before May 30, 2026.

The provincial Land Development Center and its branches, along with commune- and ward-level authorities, have been tasked with allocating sufficient personnel to meet compensation and clearance requirements.

For projects led by Phu Dien Company and Taseco Group, authorities target approval of outstanding compensation plans by March 25, 2026, with payments to be completed within March and land allocation procedures finalized by April 15, 2026.

For other projects, compensation plans are to be approved by April 5, 2026, payments completed by April 10, and land allocation finalized by April 25, 2026.

The Bac Ninh No. 2 Civil Works and Urban Development Project Management Board has been assigned to monitor implementation, urge progress and report obstacles to the provincial chairman.

Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will guide and oversee land recovery, compensation and clearance procedures, ensuring compliance with land and environmental regulations.

Investors have been urged to mobilize maximum resources, coordinate closely with local authorities and land clearance units, and consider providing appropriate support to meet legitimate concerns of affected residents.

The provincial Chairman also called on Party secretaries at the grassroots level to strengthen leadership, mobilize political organizations and community leaders, and intensify communication efforts, stressing that project implementation will be a key criterion in evaluating officials’ performance in 2026.
