Bac Ninh steps up semiconductor workforce training cooperation with Yangzhou University
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh Province is strengthening international cooperation in training high-tech talent for the semiconductor industry as it seeks to become a leading regional hub for semiconductor and integrated circuit manufacturing.

The meeting focused on the growing demand for high-tech human resources and opportunities for cooperation in education, scientific research and the implementation of the “Vietnam Yang Jie Class” programme between Yangzhou University, Micro Commercial Components Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MCC Vietnam) and educational institutions in Bac Ninh.
Representatives from the provincial Departments of Education and Training, Home Affairs, and the Management Board of Bac Ninh Industrial Parks also attended the meeting.

The PPC Vice Chairman welcomed the university delegation and highlighted Bac Ninh’s ambition to become a high-tech industrial center in the coming years, noting that the province would require a large pool of highly skilled workers to support its development goals.
He said cooperation between educational institutions and businesses would play a crucial role in developing the workforce needed for advanced technology sectors, particularly semiconductors.
Li Qingqiang expressed appreciation for the reception from provincial leaders and said Yangzhou University and MCC Vietnam were keen to explore deeper cooperation in training and research activities.
Under the proposed partnership, the parties plan to work with local educational institutions to launch the “Vietnam Yang Jie Class” programme, aimed at optimizing international training resources, improving faculty qualifications, facilitating student transfer opportunities and providing specialized scholarships.
Yangzhou University and MCC Vietnam pledged to offer scholarship and tuition-support policies designed to create favorable conditions for students from Bac Ninh.
The programme also aims to encourage graduates to pursue long-term careers in the province’s industrial parks.
Concluding the meeting, the provincial leader reaffirmed the importance of a three-way partnership model involving government, educational institutions and businesses, describing it as a breakthrough solution aligned with Bac Ninh’s strategy of becoming a leading semiconductor and microchip production center in the region between 2030 and 2045.

To accelerate implementation, Bac Ninh will establish a dedicated task force to support and coordinate workforce training initiatives for MCC Vietnam through cooperation programmes between Yangzhou University and local colleges and high schools.
The province has also instructed educational institutions to proactively coordinate with partners, develop detailed implementation plans and agree on timelines for launching the programmes. Any difficulties arising during implementation should be reported to the task force for timely resolution.
For long-term training programmes, Bac Ninh encourages the development of flexible transfer pathways, allowing students to progress from college-level education to university degrees within approximately two years.
