In his opening speech, Chairman of the Tan Yen People’s Committee Duong Ngo Manh stressed that Tan Yen, also known as Yen The Ha, once belonged to the Cau Vong region, was famous for the saying “Trai Cau Vong Yen The” (Men in Cau Vong Yen The), which aims to praise the courage of local men.
The land was the birthplace of renowned people who made great contributions to the country, such as De Nam, De Tham and the Yen The revolutionary force against the French colonists, he said, adding that the province was awarded with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” for its contributions during the resistance war against the US imperialists.
