Connecting OV businesses to help promote trade with Thailand
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu, who is also Chairman of the State Committee for OV Affairs, chaired the bridgehead in Hanoi and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province Phan The Tuan hosted the bridgehead in Bac Giang.

This forum was aimed to attract investment and strengthen trade connection among OV entrepreneurs especially OVs in Thailand and localities and businesses in Vietnam. The forum included 2 sessions: trade promotion and investment promotion.
At this event, the provincial Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan briefed the participants on potentials and advantages for economic development of Bac Giang province. Particularly, the province is home to one project from Thailand (GO! Bac Giang supermarket) with total investment capital of 3.35 million USD.
He stressed, there is very large room for cooperation and exports of goods and farm produce of Bac Giang to Thai market. He requested the Vietnamese Embassy to Thailand, Vietnamese Business Association across Thailand, OV business persons and Thai partners to support Bac Giang province in boosting trade promotion, consumption of goods, expanding market and export of Bac Giang’s lychee and key products to Thailand.

Besides, the province expected to receive support in connecting and inviting OV entrepreneurs, Thai enterprises, retailers and importers to purchase and import fresh lychee and other products from lychee, seek business and investment cooperation and promote potentials and strengths of the province while providing the market information, requirements, standards and technical barriers of Thailand.
Concluding the event, Pham Quang Hieu urged OV entrepreneurs to continue to help promote Vietnamese products in the host countries while carrying out investment in Vietnam to create jobs for domestic labourers, provide vocational training, boost socio-economic development of the localities and increase state budget revenue.
He hoped the OV community will continue promoting their roles as the bridges to help domestic enterprises penetrate foreign markets. He expected that the ministries and localities will join hands with the State Committee for OV Affairs to build more favourable and friendly environment for OVs to invest in the homeland and apply effective production and business models in Vietnam.
