Many attractive activities

The Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Culture-Tourism Week 2019, themed "Discovering the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu", will take place for seven consecutive days from February 14 to 20 (from the 10th to 16th day of the first lunar month).

This important cultural and tourist event is organized at the provincial level to introduce and promote the special and outstanding cultural values of the province's tourism resources, especially the cultural space of Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu region, to numerous domestic and foreign tourists, thus creating a breakthrough in attracting tourists.

The space of the Culture-Tourism Week 2019 will cover Son Dong, Luc Ngan, Luc Nam and Yen Dung districts and Bac Giang city, with many response activities of other localities in the province. 

It will include a series of events such as the statue procession from Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (Yen Dung) to Thuong Pagoda (Tay Yen Tu) on the morning of the 10th day of the first lunar month; the Thuong Pagoda inauguration ceremony and the opening of a culture-tourism camp; the award ceremony for a Bac Giang tourism photo contest; and the launch of a photo contest on seven-day discovery of Tay Yen Tu...

The highlights of the events are the opening ceremony of the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Culture-Tourism Week in association with the inauguration of the first phase of the Tay Yen Tu Spiritual- Ecological Tourist Area on February 16 (or the 12th day of the first lunar month); the opening of an exhibition on culture-tourism products of Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu; and a display of Vinh Nghiem Pagoda’s woodblocks, which were recognized as part of the world documentary heritage of the Asia-Pacific. 

At the same time, Buddhist followers and tourists will have an opportunity to experience Soong hao singing of the Nung people and a "love market" in the highlands of Tan Son (Luc Ngan).

Preparing for the festival opening day

Currently, preparation work is being carried out urgently. According to Giap Van Tam, Vice Chairman of the Son Dong district People's Committee, this year, the district’s Culture - Tourism Camp forms part of the Cultural - Tourism Week with 23 participating communes and townships. The district has arranged areas for communes to set up camps in the Tay Yen Tu Square. Here, the communes and townships will display and introduce their products to visitors.

At the Tay Yen Tu Spiritual - Ecological Tourist Area, there will be 18 booths for districts and city to display local products such as honey, ba kich (Morinda officinalis, also known as Indian mulberry), forest mushrooms, vermicelli, medicinal herbs, Chu noodles, sprouts, Luc Ngan orange and grapefruit, and Luc Nam sweet potato, in order to serve tourists.

To create favorable conditions for visitors to the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival, the Tay Yen Ty Services Joint Stock Company has arranged 20 security posts; 60 car keepers, engineers and drivers; and 15 electric cars which will run continuously to take tourists to destinations such as Ha Pagoda and cable car station.

Tran Minh Ha, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that at the opening ceremony of the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Culture-Tourism Week 2019, visitors from across the country can imagine the Dharma spreading path of King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong stretching from Son Dong along the Luc Nam River to Yen Dung through an art programme re-enacting the religious practice of the King-Monk as well as the formation and flourishing of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Buddhist sect. 

The programme, directed by musician Le Minh Son, will see the participation of artists from the Vietnam Cheo (Popular Opera) Theatre and the Vietnam Tuong (Classical Drama) Theatre. Besides, people and tourists can also take part in and enjoy cultural, art and sports activities such as the Chau Van singing festival (Suoi Mo Ecotourism Area, Luc Nam district), stick-pushing and volleyball tournaments.

Tay Yen Tu Tourism and Culture Week to be held

(BGO) - On December 3, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held a meeting to implement the plan and agree on some contents to prepare for the opening ceremony of the Spring Festival 2019 and the Culture and Tourism Week entitled "Discovering the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu". Le Anh Duong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and head of the organizing committee of the festival, chaired the meeting.

 

Mysterious ancient tea in Tay Yen Tu

(BGO) – The Khe Ro Natural Reserve in An Lac commune (Son Dong district, Bac Giang province) has been seemed to be fully discovered by humans. But the natural mountains and forests always hide interesting things. If we have a chance, we will know a very small part of the secret of the high mountain and thick forest. Those relics and works, placed in the unique and diverse primeval forest, have created a treasure of the heaven and earth.

 

Tay Yen Tu’s cable car system to be opened late this year

(BGO) - The cable car system and Thuong (Upper) pagoda in Tay Yen Tu tourism complex at Tuan Mau commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province are scheduled to be opened on 2 September to serve tourists.
