Export gains impressive growth in Bac Giang

(BGO) – The export sector in Bac Giang province gained enormous growth rate amid many difficulties caused by Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. The result was achieved thanks to effective measures implemented actively by local authority as well as the businesses’ flexible adaptation to actual situation to boost the export. 

Export acceleration

In 2021, Covid-19 pandemic greatly affected to the production and business activities. By synchronously implementing solution, the export gradually gained stability and exceeded the set target. Many companies quickly recovered the production after the suspension time to maintain the inked contracts and seek new partners.

Fousine Vietnam Technology and Technical Company Limited in Quang Chau industrial park (Viet Yen district) is specialized at manufacturing electronic component for export.

The Covid-19 outbreak in May forced Fuhong Precision Component Company Limited (Fuhong) in Dinh Tram industrial park (IP) to suspend operation for a period. The General Manager Zhuo Xian Hong said right after resuming the operation, the company allowed the managers to work online and seriously followed disease preventive measures.

Nearly 8,6000 labours came back work, which was almost the same as the period before the disease outbreak. The company arranged overtime working, seek new partners and inked more high value orders, helping accelerate the export turnover of over 2.7 billion USD at the end of November, up over 10 percent year on year.

Though garment companies were hard hit by Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, they still highly focused on export. Typically, Minh Duc branch of Ha Bac Export Garment Joint Stock Company in Minh Duc commune (Viet Yen district) found other markets to import cloth and accessories instead of China to solve the material issue.

The 2021 export turnover gained more than 119 million USD, up 15 percent against last year figure. Currently, the company has abundant stock of material to timely satisfy new orders.

With great efforts of business community, the export value in 2021 was estimated at over 15.65 billion USD in Bac Giang province, increasing 39.8 percent year on year.

Flexible adaptation

The global economy faced severe recession by Covid-19 pandemic in 2921. Amid the shared difficulties, the export sector in Bac Giang province earned impressive results by various factors.

Since early last year, many big investors had expanded the production scale in the province. Nearly 1,400 companies were newly established in 11 months. Many enterprises entered stable operation stage with increased number of new orders.

In addition to the businesses’ efforts, the local authority focused on forecasting, directing and managing tasks. Noticeably, Bac Giang rapidly changed the condition to flexibly adapt to actual disease prevention requirement.

The experience proved that right after acknowledging the positive signals from key markets, the provincial firms accelerated the linkage progress for consumption, production and export of products.

When the garment and textile orders were delayed, several companies changed to produce fabric face masks, medical face masks and protective suits so as to meet the domestic demand, maintain the production capability and export millions of products to international markets.

With the motto “disease prevention for production, production to fight against the disease”, local authority established 35 working groups to instruct the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control at the business; assistance teams to support companies to exchange, import and export the commodities.

The Department of Industry and Trade regularly supplied market forecast information, especially those inked Free Trade Agreement with Vietnam so as to give early alarm about commercial protection measures.

The global market will gradually recover in the upcoming time so there is high demand for commodities and materials. From the gained results and experiences in local economic development, Bac Giang will strive to earn export turnover of 19.2 billion USD in 2022, up 22.7 percent year on year.
