As the standing body of the Fund Board for the poor, the FFC at all levels have closely cooperated with organizations, departments, sectors and localities, especially member agencies to call on and mobilize various resources to care for the needy.

According to Nguyen Van Long, FFC Chairman in Tran Nguyen Han ward (one of the top leading localities in mobilizing result in Bac Giang city), this year amid the difficulties caused by Covid-19 pandemic, the local Fund Board for the poor calls on donation voluntarily without giving specific rate for household and collecting the donated amount in-person.

Most of the residential areas air the propaganda content on the loudspeaker system on Saturday and Sunday so the kind hearted person will directly come to the cultural house or FFC office to hand over their donation. So far, the FFC in Tran Nguyen Han ward has received nearly 100 million VND donating to the Fund for the poor in 2021 (equal to last year figure).

Bac Giang city registered to call on 4.5 billion VND for the Fund for the poor in 2021 and social welfare programme in 2022.

For years, the provincial Red Cross Society (RCS) has launched donation campaign “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victim” in early November. The provincial RCS Chairwoman Le Thi Duyen said this year all member organizations strive to appeal organizations, businesses and individuals to donate 10,000 gift packages (each worth at least 400,000 VND) for the poor and AO victims in the province as well as clothes, warm blanket, food and necessities.

Prioritising to build great unity house

One of prominent result in Bac Giang province recently is to eliminate temporary and damage houses, hence helping reduce the rate of poverty in the province down to 2.16 percent per year in the period 2016 – 2020, exceeding the set target. From the Fund for the poor, the FFC at all levels gain more sources to assist the impoverished households to build great unity houses.

Since early this year, the FFC at all levels have supported to build and repair 635 great unity houses with total amount of over 16 billion VND. Particularly the FFC and socio-political organizations in Tan Yen district provided assistance to build and repair 83 great unity houses with total cost of 2.7 billion VND in 2021.

To gain more sources to support the poor, the communes, towns, professional sectors and agencies has called on members to provide man power to construct house while appealing sponsors to present construction materials, equipment and utensils. Priority is taken to the elderly, single women, orphan children, people with disabilities and AO victims.

To complete the mobilization goal, the FFC at all levels and member organization have highly focused on communication task to widespread humanitarian spirit to the people at all strata in and outside the province.

Besides, they keep open and transparent sources of donation and Fund using result while timely offering encouragement and reward method to collectives and individuals with great contributions to social welfare activity.
