Folding bikes allowed on Ho Chi Minh City Metro from August
Passengers can now bring folding bikes onto the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line, Ho Chi Minh City’s first urban railway, following a new policy from operator HURC1 that took effect on August 1.
Each folding bike must not exceed 120x70x40cm, obstruct passenger, or affect the operation of the metro system and station infrastructure.

Passengers are not allowed to use their folding bikes while travelling on the train and inside the station.
According to HURC1, the permission to bring folding bikes to the metro train will contribute to building a convenient, environmentally friendly, safe and effective modern urban transport system.
Since opening seven months ago, the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Line has served 11.7 million passengers.
The system currently operates 226 train journeys each day, with the trains arriving every 7-8 minutes during rush hour.
