Friendly and hospitable Bac Giang province on the eyes of international athletes at SEA Games 31
All forces serving the badminton competition at SEA Games 31 in Bac Giang have exerted every effort to implement the assigned tasks and create best experience for sporting delegations coming to the province.

Chairman of Badminton Asia events Bambang Roedyanto cum Member of World Badminton Federation Council well evaluated the facility at the Bac Giang Gymnasium. He shared: “I am so surprised at the preparation of local organizer. The sport hall is so big and nice. As I told them you can host several regional and international events here because you have four courts with lighting, air and carpet systems meeting international standard, modern functional rooms and utilities like press room, medical room, changing room, organizer room…I give a lot of compliments to the city of Bac Giang”.
He also spoke highly of the competition quality because Southeast Asia is home to strong names in world badminton from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand. The Chairman said Vietnamese players are going up and badminton event at SEA Games 31 in Bac Giang will surely attract many spectators.

Coach Pengheng Lim of the Cambodian sport delegation together with 9 athletes arrived in Bac Giang few days ago. Sharing about the initial feeling in the province, Lim said: “It is our first time in Bac Giang. We used to concern about the accommodation condition, especially food. However, local organizer provides us good reception, delicious and various food. The volunteers are friendly and careful. All members are comfortable with best spirit ahead of the competition”.

Athlete Tanadon Punpanich from Thailand sport delegation expressed his impression on the facility of Bac Giang provincial Gymnasium, good competition carpet and lighting system which help the players comfortably practice, compete to gain positive results.
“Local weather condition is similar to our homeland so we are fine. The food is quite good though it is less spicy than ours. Local organizers have carefully prepared everything. Both Thailand and Vietnam are strong,” Tanadon Punpanich shared.

Surprising at the enthusiasm and thoroughness from the volunteers and public security forces at the athletes training and accommodation places, Indonesian badminton player Chico told that “I arrived in Bac Giang on May 13. When I was here, everything is well prepared by local organizer. The young volunteers are very active. They support us a lot. The safe guards present everywhere so we feel really safe”.
Similarly to Chico, it was the first time female badminton player Yap Ling of Malaysian delegation has competed in Vietnam. She and 20 members of the team arrived at Bac Giang on May 14. The young girl comfortably experiences the city from weather condition, training space and food.

Due to tight practicing condition and safe requirement, the delegation is allowed to travel from hotel to the training facility. So she hopes to visit around and taste local street food during her stay.
“I knew about Vietnam before this tourney, such an amazing country. I want to discover more after listening about the beauty landscapes and destinations in Vietnam and Bac Giang from the volunteers. After the competition, I desire to travel to famous tourism site in Vietnam and taste specialties,” Yap Ling said.
Taking effort for successful event, Bac Giang has created good image to international friends coming for badminton at SEA Games 31.
