German scholarships presented to Vietnamese students

The Hessen State Ministry for Science and Art (HSMSA) and the German World University Service (WUS) on May 28 granted scholarships to 21 outstanding Vietnamese students studying in several educational institutions in the northern provinces of Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang.

The Hessen scholarship programme has been targeting students living in difficult circumstances with high academic performances across the country for 26 years.

The programmme, with 150-250 scholarships presented each year, prioritises female students due to prevailing gender inequality in access to education.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, 250 lucky students across Vietnam will benefit from the programme. Each scholarship is worth 216 EUR (242 USD).

The scholarships are part of an educational cooperation programme between Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and the HSMSA.

Scholarships granted to impoverished students
(BGO) – The Study Encouragement Association in the northern province of Bac Giang has granted the scholarships to 7 difficult students at Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students achieving the good academic result. 
 
Scholarships presented to needy students in Bac Lieu
The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and its “For beloved Hoang Sa-Truong Sa” Club handed over 115 scholarships to needy students in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu at a ceremony on March 13.

Korean group offers scholarships to students in Lam Dong
The CJ Group of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on December 27 granted 115 scholarships, worth a total 500 million VND (21,500 USD, for excellent but impoverished students in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
