A stitch in time saves nine
Recently, many families of women members in the districts of Viet Yen, Tan Yen, Lang Giang and Yen The have encountered a lot of difficulties caused by unexpected disease outbreak.

Four residential areas of Hoa Binh, Thong Nhat, Tan Tien and Gia Lam in Bo Ha town (Yen The district) were lock down after detecting many Covid-19 patients (F0) and people with close contact to the patients (F1).
Not letting the locals hungry, the Steering Board for Covid-19 prevention and control in the town established the supporting team chaired by the Trade Union and Women Association in the commune to regularly receive information, connect and distribute the sources to timely assist the households.
Though the locals must stay at home for over 20 days, all of the poor, near poor families and households with F0, F1 and F2 cases in Bo Ha town were provided food and necessities.
With voluntary spirit to share whatever one has, the Women Division in Dinh Tien residential area in Bo Ha town operates “Zero VND store” to receive food and food stuff donated by kind-hearted people every day.
While the lockdown has been imposed on dozens of families in Mai Trung commune (Hiep Hoa district) since November 25. Right after that, the communal Woman Association directed officials at all levels to join community Covid-19 team to grasp the information, support the families in lockdown area or under home isolation. They prioritized to provide essential goods and foods to prevent anyone from being hungry.
Standing side by side to overcome the pandemic
In August 2021, Vietnam Women Union launched programme “Millions of gifts to share lovingness” across the nation to support women and children to overcome difficulties, disease and natural disasters. In Bac Giang, the Standing Board of the provincial Women Union (PWU) called on all chapters to implement the programme.

According to Chairwoman of the provincial Women Union Nguy Thi Tuyen, the programme is launched in three period. The first one is conducted in the fourth quarter of 2021 to assist families of women and children affected by disease and natural disaster, each gift worth 300,000 VND.
The second period will be launched in the first quarter of 2022 to visit and present gifts to policy beneficial families, Vietnamese Heroic Mother, disadvantaged women on 2022 Lunar New Year occasion. Every division strives to give at least two gift packages, each worth 500,000 VND.
The last period is scheduled on April till the end of 2022 to create livelihood for impoverished women to recover the difficulties in post Covid time.

In Tan Yen district, all women chapters integrated the programme into waste to money campaign for charity work. All the money earned by selling the collected waste will be saved to present gift to difficult women and children on the upcoming Lunar New Year.
To join hands with the party and authority in protecting the pandemic prevention and control result as well as ensuring social welfare and security, the PSU urged all chapters to further implement practical movements, widespread humanity meaning to assist women and children to overcome the hardship caused by disease.
Apart from gifts of food, necessities for the life, all chapters should pay attention to encourage and support the livelihood for members who have just come back normal pace after Covid-19 treatment period or medical quarantine time so that they can have job and income, well follow disease preventive measures and gradually stabilize the living.
