Health of 5 among 6 covid-19 patients in Bac Giang greatly improved

(BGO)- According to information from the Department of Health of Bac Giang province and the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases, Facility No 2, health condition of 5 patients in the family with 6 Covid-19 infected cases in Yen Dinh commune, Son Dong district have been stably improved.
The patients including 2 little kids have been relieved from cough, fever and chest pain. However, patient No 793 (58 years old), their grand parent is in worse progression after 2 weeks of treatment.

The patient suffers from serious pulmonary lesions even super infection of other bacteria and fungi apart from SARS-CoV-2 causing septic and severe respiratory failure that he needs invasive ventilation instead of non-invasive ventilation through endotracheal tube.

The patient is being treated with antibiotics, antiviral, antifungal and other medicine against Cytokine Release Syndrome while being provided ventilation assistance, strictly monitored respiratory status and hemodynamics for evaluation of the indices.

The doctors team are considering if the patient can respond to ventilator in coming time and taking related tests for proper therapy. The doctors and nurses are on duty 24/24 hours to monitor the patient condition for timely treatment.

As of 25 August, the number of people in concentrated quarantine in the province was doubled compared to 24 August with 362 cases. Most of them are Chinese experts and technicians immigrating to work for the companies in the locality who have been put in concentrated quarantine in the hotels such as Ravatel Inn, Muong Thanh and Huong Sen.

The number of people related to the virus-hit areas across the country has been sharply decreased to 29 cases.
