Hiep Hoa Safety Zone II in Bac Giang recognized as special national relic

(BGO)- The Prime Minister has signed the Decision No 2280/QD-TTg dated 31 December 2020 on recognizing special national relics (the 11th time) in 2020.

Accordingly, 7 relics have been recognized this time including the Memorable relic system of late President Ho Chi Minh in Phuc Vang district, Thua Thien hue province and Hue city, Hiep Hoa Safety Zone II in Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province, Cai Chanh historical relic site in Hong Dan district, Bac Lieu province, the artistic architecture of An Xa temple in Tien Lu district, Hung Yen province, the artistic architecture of Ha Hiep temple in Phuc Tho district, Hanoi city, Nguyen Xi Mausoleum and Temple in Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province and Ganh Da Dia ( known as the Reef of Plates) in Tuy An district, Phu Yen province.

Educating about the tradition to students at the Exhibition House of Hiep Hoa Safety Zone II.

Hiep hoa is a midland and mountainous area in the west of Bac Giang province. It has important geographical and military position known as the gateway and fence between the 2 strategic zones of the Red River Delta and the huge Viet Bac mountainous area. In early 1943, the Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee started building the Safety Zone II in Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province bordering Phu Binh and Pho Yen districts, Thai Nguyen province.

Hiep Hoa Safety Zone II relic consists of 8 relic sites including the Ngo Van Thau’s house (known as teacher Do Ba), Nguyen Van Che’s house, Ngo Van Dong’s house (known as Ly Dong, an ancient village manager), Soi temple and Van Xuyen temple in Hoang Van commune, Cho Van temple in Hoang An commune, Xuan Bieu temple in Xuan Cam commune and Y Son pagoda in Hoa Son commune.

7 relic sites of the Safety Zone were recognized by the Government in 1994. Y Son pagoda was added to the national relic system in June 2018. Each relic site adheres to the important historical persons and national outstanding events marking transition in preparing forces and conditions for the General Uprising in 1945.

To date, Bac Giang has 5 special national relic sites including the relic site of Yen The Uprising places recognized in 2012, Vinh Nghiem pagoda in 2015, Bo Da pagoda in 2016, Xuong Giang Victory relic site in 2019 and Hiep Hoa Safety Zone II historical relic.

The recognition affirms big values of Hiep Hoa Safety Zone relic system in the revolutionary history of the nation. It is also the pride of the officials and people of Hiep Hoa district particularly and Bac Giang province generally.
