Along with maintaining the growth rate, the economic scale of Bac Giang province continues to expand to hit about 181,900 billion VND (7.77 billion USD), which currently ranked 12th in the country and first among the Northern midland and mountainous provinces.

The province has paid due attention to improving the investment and business environment while the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) now ranks highest ever of second out of 63 provinces and cities.

Bac Giang province attracted more than 3.3 billion USD of investment capital, reaching an all-time record, especially new foreign direct investment (FDI) of over 3 billion USD and ranking 4th in the country.

The industrial production recovered quickly. The industrial production index increased by 20.2 percent. The production value reached 541,169 billion VND, contributing more than 85 percent of value, affirming its spearhead position as the main driving force for local economic growth.

Bac Giang's agricultural sector also affirmed its important position on Vietnam's agricultural map with large-scale fruit growing areas; leading pig and chicken farming groups in the country.

Notably, the province persistently proposed the Prime Minister to use local budget to expand Nhu Nguyet bridge so as to remove major traffic bottleneck for the province.

At the same time, the province proactively invited neighboring localities to discuss and agree to invest in many important bridge and connection road projects...

Thanks to that, Bac Giang has created a traffic connection system with the capital region as well as formed a continuous transportation system in the province to serve socio-economic development.

Many valuable experiences

The Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai affirmed that to achieve outstanding results in 2023, first of all, the province well forecast and assessed the situation, then worked out appropriate and successful policies, assigned tasks clearly to proper people. Local authority also promoted internal strength, solidarity and high determination; raised the sense of responsibility of cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees regarding assigned tasks.

Besides, the province also took advantage of external resources, well conducted foreign affairs to create motivation for socio-economic development not only in 2023 but also in the following years.

In addition, Bac Giang tapped local potentials and highly concentrated advantages to improve the business investment environment, create a mark in attracting domestic investment and especially foreign investment.

Remarkably, the provincial sectors and localities have made efforts to successfully implement one of the difficult tasks of many years that is site clearance, helping create a rich land fund to build the industrial parks and clusters, road expansion, traffic development and urban areas as well as invest in environmental landscapes to attract investment for social development.

The closeness and boldness in the direction and management of the provincial leaders was also one of Bac Giang's valuable lessons, helping to discover bottlenecks, hence defining the issues under local jurisdiction for immediate analysis and settlement.

In addition, the province always takes chances to promote and introduce the potential, strengths and investment opportunities in Bac Giang to foreign investors.

With the achieved results, the Party Committee and people of Bac Giang province are confident and determined to successfully carry out the socio-economic development task in 2024 and the entire term.

Bac Giang export businesses accelerate production for breakthroughs
