Updated: 10:38, 19/03/2026

BAC NINH - Authorities have introduced cash incentives to encourage residents to hand over land early for the construction of the Gia Binh International Airport project.

Under regulations on compensation, support and resettlement when land is acquired by the state, households that agree to compensation, voluntarily dismantle homes and structures, and hand over land ahead of the notified deadline will receive a bonus of 50 million VND (1,900 USD).

The cleared site is being prioritised to construct the VIP terminal.

Additional rewards may also be provided from socialised funding sources.

To prepare for the APEC 2027 summit, in addition to agricultural land clearance and grave relocation, most of five villages in Gia Binh commune of My Thon, Ngo Thon, Luong Phap, Thu Phap, part of Dong Lam village as well as Tu Ne village in Luong Tai commune, are expected to relocate and hand over land to investors by April 2026.

Policies on land acquisition, compensation and resettlement plans have been publicly posted at village cultural houses for residents to review. Authorities are also collecting feedback from residents to address concerns in line with regulations.
