Lenovo Group seeks investment opportunities in Bac Giang

(BGO)- On 19 February, Nguyen Van Linh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province (PPC) received Bai Ping, CEO of Lenovo Group Ltd and some other members of the Group visiting and seeking investment opportunities in Bac Giang. The delegation was welcomed by leaders of the provincial department of Planning and Investment, the provincial Industrial Zones Authority and the PPC Office.

At the meeting, PPC Chairman Nguyen Van Linh briefed the guests on the geographical location, natural conditions, potentials and advantages and socio-economic development of the province.

According to the PPC Chairman, Bac Giang hit the 3rd highest economic growth rate nationwide in 2018. This growth rate was gained from industrial development which increased by 28 percent against 2017.

Regarding foreign direct investment (FDI), there are 92 FDI investors operating in the province in which Chinese enterprise take the majority investing in solar cell and electronic production. The provincial industrial parks have been invested with an integrated infrastructure to welcome investors. Currently, Bac Giang is a destination for many investors. The PPC Chairman expected Lenovo Group to consider investing in the province.

Bai Ping, CEO of Lenovo Group thanked PPC Chairman Nguyen Van Linh for his important information of Bac Giang province. He shared, the Group wanted 20 to 30 hectares of land area to build a computer component factory. 

The computer product of this factory will be exported to the USA with the expected export volume of about 3 billion USD. Hence, he hoped the province will introduce them to a suitable industrial park.

Besides, Bai Ping and his fellows asked for information about business incentive policies, human resources, customs procedures, exit and entrance procedures of Bac Giang province.
