Luc Ngan fruit fair scheduled on November 24 – 29

(BGO) – The Luc Ngan fair of orange, pomelo and local signature products will take place from November 24 – 29 at the Center Square in Chu town (Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province), according to the representative of the district People’s Committee.

This year, the fruit fair is held to replace the previous fruit festivals with 90 booths of the local communes and towns (only some communes were presented last year) including one showcasing and one selling pavillions while several enterprises and cooperatives are encouraged to participate in the event to introduce the products.

A selling point of orange and pomelo in Chu town (Luc Ngan district).

Particularly, the fruit quality contest is scheduled among the sweet orange, yellow flesh orange and sweet pomelo and Da xanh (green skin) pomelo. The awarded fruit will be put on an auction to get the donation to the district “Fund for the Poor”.

Also, the fair arranges specific areas for the botanical exhibition, children entertainment, a competition of beautiful booth with several utilities such as free wifi.

Fruit, vegetable exports valued at 3.3 billion USD
Vietnam earned some 3.3 billion USD from vegetable and fruit exports during January-October, up 15.5 percent from the same time last year, the Agro Processing Market Development Authority (AgroTrade) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has said.

The shipping fee per kilogram of fruit can be three times higher than the price at farmer’s garden.
