Many schools in Bac Giang to stop back-to-school balloon release

(BGO) – On August 20, many representatives of the administrative board in several schools in the northern province of Bac Giang confirmed to stop back-to-school balloon release and restrict the usage of nylon bag and single use plastic then replace by glass cup and bottle so as to practically respond to the plastic waste prevention movement. 

According to the leaders of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Ngo Si Lien High School (Bac Giang province), Luc Nam High School and Yen The High School, the opening ceremony will be organized formally, briefly and meaningful with the ceremony less than 45 minutes.

The opening ceremony of new academic year is held with full meaning.

The Divisions of Education and Training in the districts of Viet Yen, Hiep Hoa, Tan Yen and Luc Nam instructed the schools to hold back-to-school ceremony and educate the environmental protection awareness to the students via the activities of planting and caring for the trees, communicating and instructing them to place the waste in order, keeping the school and class clean and green as well as minimise the plastic waste.

Previously on August 19, the Department of Education and Training issued a letter to guide the establishments to celebrate the opening ceremony of new academic year formally and shortly with full meaning, time saving and environmental protection.

After the ceremony, the school can organize several collective activities such as cultural and sports exchange, folk games competition; teach the regulations and behaviour rule at the school, 5 Uncle’s Teachings to primary students, school’s tradition and history while coordinating with the organization, enterprises and parental representatives to present gifts to the impoverished students.
