The players come from 39 units nationwide, including many strong teams such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho city, Da Nang city, Thua Thien – Hue province, Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province.

They are competing in men’s and women’s events in the standard, rapid and blitz chess categories in age groups of 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 20.

The 11-day event provides an opportunity for the national youth team to scout the country’s outstanding players in preparation for upcoming domestic and world competitions. It also aims to promote chess playing and practice among juniors and students.
