Right from the first days of accepting the task, the Party Committee and Commander of the Regiment paid great attention to thoroughly grasping the directions of their superiors, making ideological orientations, and raising determination of each officer and soldiers. They identified this as one of the important, long-term, difficult and complex political tasks.
In the process of performing their task, the Party Committee and commander of the unit paid special attention to communication work so that officers and soldiers could firmly grasp how to use equipment and propaganda measures to raise awareness of citizens when observing concentrated quarantine.
Up to now, the Regiment has received and managed nearly 7,000 people, including nearly 2,000 foreigners, while ensuring the safety for the forces on duty, preventing cross-infection.
Major Dong Van Tai, Captain of Company 1, Battalion 1 said: "At first, because people did not understand the quarantine regulations, the unit’s officers and soldiers had to focus on explaining around the clock. Regardless of day and night, whenever citizens had questions and recommendations, they enthusiastically explained to create consensus for serious implementation of medical quarantine”.
Ready to serve the people
At the end of April 2021, the Covid-19 epidemic broke out again, the province became the epicenter of the whole country when the number of infections increased rapidly. With the spirit of being ready to accept and successfully complete the tasks, the Regiment has gathered all its forces and equipment to contribute to the fight against the pandemic on all fronts.
Not only providing logistics services and managing quarantine areas, its officers and soldiers also engaged in work at seven Covid-19 treatment hospitals and quarantine sites in communes of Viet Yen district. In particular, in just three hours on May 19, the Regiment and other relevant forces quickly built the Covid-19 Treatment Hospital No. 2 to serve the treatment of nearly 500 Covid-19 patients.
At the main base of the unit in Dinh Ke ward (Bac Giang city), officers and soldiers both performed their professional tasks and provided support in terms of accommodations and dining services for the working delegations of the military forces to come to help the province with this fight. At the same time, they also did a good job of making the list of voters and organizing the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.
When the epidemic was basically under control, Regiment 831 continued with new tasks, quickly overcoming difficulties due to small and scattered forces. The main task now is to foster national defense - security knowledge for targeted students in the province; ensure logistics work and prepare all necessary for its participation in the military zone-level army games in the coming time.
The unit has also worked closely with Hiep Hoa district to organize drills for natural disaster prevention and control while coordinating with Yen The district to hold exercises in the defense area. At the same time, it has maintained a state of combat readiness, with mobile forces standing ready for Covid-19 prevention and control in the new normal.
