In 2018, the National Institute of Hematology - Blood Transfusion called for platelet donors. He knew that after donating platelets, volunteers only need 3 weeks for the next time, shorter than blood donation (minimum time between blood donations is 12 weeks).
So, platelet donation can help more patients. Since then, he has donated platelets 8-10 times a year. To date, he has donated blood and platelets 48 times. He is an active member of Bac Giang Platelet Donation Club (under the Provincial Red Cross Society).
As Vice Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, Tri coordinates with local authorities and organizations to propagate and raise awareness of youth union members and people about the noble and humane meaning of blood donation, hence creating widespread effect, arousing the spirit of solidarity and mutual love in the community.
The event is organized annually by the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation. So far, 1,500 individuals have been honored.
Apart from Tri, 14 individuals in Bac Giang province have been honored for years.
