Over 300 million VND donated to Humanitarian Fund

(BGO) – Over 300 million VND (13,000 USD) have been transferred to the Red Cross Society in the northern province of Bac Giang by 47 kind-hearted people, organizations and enterprises in the last period responding to the Humanitarian Fund campaign 2018 launched by the provincial Management Council for the Humanitarian Fund.

The major donors included Bac Giang branch of High Voltage Power Company and Department of Natural Resources and Environment (each donated 22 million VND or 955 USD); Tuan Mai Trading Joint Stock Company and the provincial Tumor Hospital (each presented 15 million VND or 650 USD); Department of Finance and the provincial Fund for Investment and Development (each donated 12 million VND or 520 USD); Trade Union of the local commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (10 million VND or 434 USD); Department of Transport (10 million VND) among others.

The local Red Cross Society has used the donations to provide long-term support to 34 families living in special difficulties in the districts of Viet Yen, Yen Dung, Luc Ngan, Son Dong and Hiep Hoa. Each family is provided with 300,000 VND (13 USD) per month for one year period since May 2018.

The fund is also used to sponsor the localities to prevent mitigate and respond to the natural disasters and diseases as well as present the emergent and regular aids to the impoverished individuals and collectives.
