Phuc Hoa early ripening lychee revenue tops 270 billion VND

Updated: 16:40, 28/05/2026

BAC NINH - Farmers in Phuc Hoa commune of Bac Ninh province are expected to generate more than 270 billion VND (10.2 million USD) from early-season lychee sales this year, despite lower output compared with previous seasons, local authorities said.

The commune, which has 845 hectares of lychee plantations, is estimated to produce around 7,500 tonnes of fruit this year. About 85% of the crop, equivalent to more than 6,300 tonnes, has already been harvested.

Local farmers harvest the remaining crop in the early morning to avoid extreme heat and maintain fruit quality.

Around 3,000 tonnes have been exported to markets including China, Japan, Canada and the United States, while the remainder is being sold domestically.

Average prices have risen to about 37,000 VND per kilogram, helping many growers earn hundreds of millions of dong during the harvest season.

Some farmers have introduced new lychee varieties cultivated under safe production standards, with premium fruit selling for as much as 150,000 VND per kilogram.

Ngo Van Cuong, a grower in Quat Du 2 village whose orchard won first prize in a local “Beautiful Lychee Garden” competition, said his family harvested more than 10 tonnes from over one hectare of lychee trees this year, generating more than 400 million VND in revenue.
