Priciest lychee orchard in Phuc Hoa draws buyers

Updated: 11:29, 20/05/2026

BAC NINH - Farmers in Phuc Hoa Commune, Bac Ninh Province are enjoying a bumper early lychee harvest this year after adopting new lychee varieties and advanced cultivation techniques.

The standout orchard belongs to Ngo Van Cuong in Quat Du 2 hamlet, where the rare “U trung” lychee variety (the lychee is shaped like an egg) or locally known as “hong dao” lychee (pink lychee) is fetching record prices thanks to its attractive appearance, large size and premium quality.

Traders are purchasing the fruit directly at the orchard for up to 150,000 VND (5.8 USD) per kilogram, the highest price ever recorded in the area.

Local farmers enjoy a bumper harvest of early ripening lychees.

Lychees are transported down from the hills by hand carts before being shipped to market.

The lychees are notably large, with only 16-18 fruits per kilogram, making them the most expensive variety currently grown in Phuc Hoa.

Farmers expressed excitement over the abundant harvest as heavily laden branches filled orchards across the commune.

Phuc Hoa Commune remains one of Bac Ninh’s key lychee-growing areas.
