Provincial leaders visit, present Tet gifts to the poor in some localities

(BGO) - On the morning of January 15, Duong Van Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the province’s delegation of the National Assembly deputies, visited and presented Tet gifts to poor households in Son Dong district.

In Tuan Dao commune, Thai expressed his delight at the locality’s achievements. He requested that in the coming time, the commune must focus on fixing its shortcomings and promoting economic development, especially the forest economy. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet), the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, leaders of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and enterprises gave gifts to 40 poor households in the commune.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, together with the leaders of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and businesses, gave Son Dong district 4,600 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND (22 USD).

On the afternoon of January 15, the Trade Union of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies held a programme to give 40 Tet gifts (each worth 1.2 million VND) to policy beneficiary families and poor households in Lam Cot commune (Tan Yen district).

On the same day, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Thai visited and extended New Year wishes to the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Yen district. Congratulating the district for its achievements in all fields, he asked it to continue to focus on completing key projects and taking care of the people during Tet, especially policy beneficiary families, poor families, and households in difficult circumstances, ensuring that everyone and every family has a happy Tet.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong extends Tet greeting to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s provincial chapter and Venerable Thich Thien Van.

On this occasion, Dai Hoang Son Joint Stock Company presented Tan Yen district 1,000 gifts for poor families, households living in special difficulties, with a total value of 500 million VND (21,990 USD).

On the morning of January 15, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong visited and presented Tet gifts to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s provincial chapter and Venerable Thich Thien Van, member of the Executive Board of the VBS Central Committee and head of the Executive Board of the VBS’s provincial chapter.

On the same day, Duong and his entourage visited the general social protection and mental health care facilities of the province. Currently, the provincial General Social Protection Facility is taking care of 131 lonely elderly people, orphans, HIV-infected and disabled children. Meanwhile, the provincial Mental Health Care Facility is treating 86 people with severe mental illnesses.

On this occasion, he gave each facility a gift worth 3 million VND; Hoa Phu Invest Co., Ltd. donated 25 million VND (1,099 USD) each, and Bach Viet Group 15 million VND (660 USD) each.

The gifts have been raised from the Central Fund for the Poor and benefactors.
