The strategy focuses on developing cultural industries by turning festivals and concerts into recurring annual events, combining heritage with modern art to diversify tourism products and bring in the crowds.
A major highlight will come on April 11 with a free public concert at October 30 Square in Ha Long Ward, marking the opening of the 17th National Radio Festival – Quang Ninh 2026. Organisers are bracing for a massive turnout of up to 50,000 spectators.
The show will be broadcast live on local channels QTV1 and QTV3, relayed across media, radio and television networks nationwide, aired live on the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) radio channels, and streamed on digital platforms.
According to organisers, the concert is a flashy fusion of old and new, blending political-artistic vibes by VOV and Quang Ninh authorities. The whole thing revolves around the theme of “waves” and “sound”, nodding to broadcasting while capturing the beating heart of the mining land.
The concert will unfold in three chapters to create a continuous emotional and thematic journey. It mixes folk, lyrical and political motifs with contemporary sounds like electronic music, rap and pop, supported by state-of-the-art laser, sound and lighting technology on a huge outdoor stage.
The lineup spans generations of artists nurtured by VOV, including People’s Artist Thanh Hoa and Meritorious Artists Hoang Thanh, Dang Duong and Hoang Tung.
Joining them are plenty of younger crowd-pleasers like Truc Nhan, Hoa Minzy, Pham Anh Duy, rapper Double2T, Hoang Bach, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Thu Thuy, Quach Mai Thy, Vu Thuy Linh, rising rapper Xe Xe, Oplus group and the HT art troupe.
Quang Ninh has been on a roll with these big shows. Earlier hits like Ha Long Concert 2025 themed Heritage Spirit – Shining Future, Quang Ninh – Heroic Mining Land, Proud to Follow the Glorious Party – Quang Ninh Rises to New Heights, and the recent Sacred Yen Tu – A Millennium of Heroic Spirit at the UNESCO-listed Yen Tu site on March 7 all pulled in massive crowds of 30,000 - 50,000 fans, all for free.
By turning these spectacles into regular blockbuster events, Quang Ninh is betting big that music, lights and heritage will keep tourists coming back for more.
