The year 2025 marked a significant change in the cause of province’s development.

Industrial sector is a main growth driver in Bac Ninh.

The new Bac Ninh province was established by merging former Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces with 99 communal-level administrative units.

This event not only enlarges the administrative boundaries but also creates a bigger space for development, combining potentials and advantages of both localities and forming a foundation for strong development in the next stage.

Overcoming difficulties, Bac Ninh provicne has maintained its growth momentum. Its GRDP increased by 10.27 percent in 2025, among top provinces in Vietnam with highest economic growth rate. GRDP per capital reached 5,852 USD, higher than the national average rate.

The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction, in which industrial and construction sectors play the leading role, accounting for over 71 percent. Industrial sector is the main driver of growth with the presence of many giant corporations in the fields of electronics and high technology.

The projects in Bac Ninh province come from 42 countries and territories, mainly in the fields of electronic component and machinery manufacturing, logistics and industrial real estate.

Big corporations like Samsung, Foxconn or Luxshare continue expanding their production in the province, contributing to making Bac Ninh one of the regional major electronic hubs.

The province’s industrial production value achieved over 2.4 quadrillion VND (92 billion USD). The total import and export revenue reached 182 billion USD, accounting for about 20 percent of the nation’s total turnover, affirming Bac Ninh’s important role in the global production and supply chain.

In line with industrial development, the province has also attached importance to sustainable agricultural development, applying science and technology and expanding production under value chain.

Cultural and social sectors have been also paid attention. The Yen Tu- Vinh Nghiem- Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes was recognized by UNSECO as the world cultural heritage while the craft of making Dong Ho folk painting was inscribed onto the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding.

Currently, Bac Ninh is home to 8 UNESCO recognized heritages, contributing to affirming special cultural values of Kinh Bac region.

Remarkably, the province is aiming at robust development of high-tech sectors, particularly semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence, which are defined as the new drivers of future economic growth.

Besides, the province is implementing several policies to attract big universities to invest in the locality, thereby forming a big-scale training and science research center.

Bac Ninh planned to allocate around 720 billion VND (27.6 million USD) to invite some prestigious universities like Hanoi Medicine University, Foreign Trade University, University of Natural Resources and Environment and Polytechnique University to build training facilities in the province.

This is a significant step to establish an ecosystem of training, research and high-tech production, forming a foundation for the province’s sustainable development in the next stage.

Bac Ninh has made dramatic changes.

The 1st Bac Ninh provincial Party Congress for the tenure 2025-2030 clearly defined the development goals to elevate Bac Ninh to become a centrally governed city before 2030, while transforming the province into a green, civilized and modern urban center imbued with the rich cultural identity of Kinh Bac region by 2045.

2026 is a pivotal milestone in the province’s new development phase. It has set a target of 12.5 to 13 percent GRDP growth, laying groundwork for sustaining double-digit growth throughout the period.

On its established development foundation in line with a spirit of innovation, creativity and strong determination of the entire political system, Bac Ninh is steadily asserting its role as a key growth pole of the capital region, striving towards rapid and sustainable development in the new era.
