Industrial production remained the key driver, accounting for nearly 65% of the province’s GRDP. Within the sector, manufacturing of electronic products, computers and optical equipment dominated, making up more than 61% of total industrial output.
An improving investment and business environment has encouraged enterprises, particularly foreign investors, to expand operations in the province.
In early March, Yadea Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. put into operation a smart electric motorbike plant at Tan Hung Industrial Park, with a first-phase capacity of around 1 million units per year, expected to double to 2 million units annually in later stages.
Meanwhile, Sunwoda Vietnam Co., Ltd. has invested in two additional plants at Yen Lu and Hoa Phu industrial parks. The facility at Yen Lu Industrial Park is scheduled to begin operations by the end of this year.
The expansion of these enterprises has contributed significantly to the province’s Q1 growth and is expected to support Bac Ninh’s full-year economic growth target of 12.5–13%.
