Samsung launches technology talent programme in Bac Ninh

Updated: 09:58, 15/04/2026

BAC NINH - Samsung Vietnam, in coordination with the National Innovation Center (NIC) and Letuin High Tech Vietnam Co., Ltd., on April 14 launched the 2026 Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme at the Vietnam–Korea College of Technology Bac Giang (VK-Tech) in the northern province of Bac Ninh.

The ceremony was attended by senior provincial leaders, including Nguyen Hong Thai, a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee, and Mai Son, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee. General Director of Samsung Vietnam Na Ki Hong and NIC Deputy Director Do Tien Thinh also joined the event.

The delegates attend the event.

The 2026 programme is being rolled out as the semiconductor industry gains strategic importance in global value chains, aligning with Vietnam’s target of training 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030.

For the first time, SIC will incorporate semiconductor training across three levels of introductory, intermediate and advanced.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai presents flowers in congratulations.

The programme will continue to offer courses in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data. A Training of Trainers (ToT) model will also be introduced in the semiconductor field to ensure quality and scalability in the coming years.

SIC 2026 aims to train around 2,200 students nationwide through collaboration between Samsung Vietnam, NIC, Letuin High Tech and nearly 20 universities and colleges.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai and delegates attend the launch ceremony of the SIC programme.

Speaking at the event, Na Ki Hong said the Samsung Innovation Campus, launched in Vietnam in 2019, has enabled many students to access advanced technologies.

In 2026, the programme is expected to expand semiconductor courses from basic to advanced levels, helping students enter the high-tech industry early and enhance their competitiveness.

Delegates take part in the handover ceremony of the SIC Lab to Bac Ninh province.

Samsung hoped SIC will help nurture a core workforce to meet the demands of Vietnam’s digital economy and high-tech industrial development, he added.

The provincial Standing Vice Chairman Mai Son said the launch of SIC 2026 and the inauguration of the Samsung-funded SIC Lab marked a significant step in improving the quality of human resources in Bac Ninh and the northern key economic region.

The delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the SIC Lab.

He noted that Bac Ninh is shifting towards high-tech, smart industrial development, with people at the centre and technology education as the foundation.

Samsung’s investment in a modern lab is seen as a practical move to bridge the gap between training and real-world application, enabling students to access an international-standard learning environment.

The provincial leader also expressed appreciation for Samsung, the province’s largest foreign investor, for its contributions to industrial growth and exports, as well as its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

He called on relevant stakeholders to coordinate closely in operating and utilising the lab effectively, while reaffirming the province’s commitment to maintaining a favourable investment environment for sustainable business growth.

At the ceremony, Samsung inaugurated the Samsung Innovation Campus Lab at VK-Tech. The 725-square-metre facility includes SIC classrooms, a STEM lab, extended reality (XR/VR) practice rooms and a semiconductor assembly simulation lab.

Starting in 2026, Samsung plans to expand this model to other localities, creating modern experiential learning spaces to support hands-on training and research, particularly in semiconductors in line with Vietnam’s development strategy.

The delegates visit the SIC Lab.

Launched globally in 2019, Samsung Innovation Campus has expanded to 36 countries. In Vietnam, Samsung has also implemented various initiatives to support workforce development alongside SIC.

Following the ceremony, provincial leaders and delegates toured the SIC Lab.

The SIC 2026 programme is expected to open up further opportunities for young people to access new technologies, contributing to the development of a high-quality workforce to support the digital economy and high-tech industries in Bac Ninh and across Vietnam.
