Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Hai talks with businesspeople.

In the spirit of openness and straightforwardness, participants discussed issues of mutual concern. Bac Giang is now home to nearly 7,000 firms, most of them are small and medium-sized enterprises so that apart from mechanism and policy support, they need easier credit access to tackle their capital difficulties.

A number of new enterprises and cooperatives are incapable of investing in industrial zones due to high business costs and settlement in site clearance compensation for displaced residents. Firms asked the provincial Party Committee to issue policies facilitating their land access for business development. The provincial Business Association proposed conducting business surveys and vocational training in order to improve its role and operations.

Talking with firms’ representatives, Hai said the government is directing ministries, agencies and localities to drastically fight corruption, negative phenomena and group interests towards building a society of transparency and fairness. It is a good opportunity to improve the business climate. In response to the policy, the provincial Party Committee will say no to ask-give mechanism but request bidding when it comes to investing in projects.

He said the stable political climate at home and abroad as well as socio-economic development will give a boost to business operations. He suggested that firms should invest in machinery, equipment to raise output and products’ value, as well as seek chances to join the global manufacturing value chain.

The province has established a development investment fund to meet the demand for business loans, especially for eco-friendly projects and those based in industrial zones or complexes. The provincial Party Committee will direct departments and agencies to pay attention to planning and expansion of local industrial complexes to meet investment demand of SMEs.

The provincial Business Association needs to consolidate staff from the district to the provincial level to build plans and devise specific orientations to business support.
