Ngoc was born in Xuan Phu village, Xuan Phu commune (Yen Dung district) and was orphaned at his early age (his mother died when he was in the first grade, and in the sixth grade, his father also died of serious illness). To help Ngoc continue going to school, his older sister, who is working in Bac Giang city, took him to live with her.
That time, he studied at a high quality class in the city. Thanks to his hard work and constant efforts, in the 9th grade, Ngoc won the second prize at the city level competition for excellent students and the second prize at the provincial-level contest. He was directly admitted to the 10th Biology grade at the Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.
Along with Biology, Ngoc said he is able to study Maths well. In addition to the lessons in the classroom with teachers, the rest of the time he studies by himself. After mastering basic knowledge, he often draws mind maps, marks with crayons or signs to note the knowledge to remember.
